Description
Michigan Avenue Frank - 1983
Michigan Avenue Frank was one of my favorite homeless old guy panhandler
who lived under one of the Chicago River bridges near my studio.
Our paths crossed often when he frequented the Soup Kitchen/Mission operated by
Franciscan Monks just three doors down the street from my studio, where I lived and worked. .
Two days after this photograph was taken, some thugs slit Frank’s throat and he died alone
in the rubble of the river's edge. His friendliness and smiling face was missed...
i was always glad that i took this photo.
